Different sexual impacts of dioecious Populus euphratica on microbial communities and nitrogen cycle processes in natural forests

چکیده
Plant-soil microbe interactions are determined by plant characters. Sexual dimorphism in root development, nitrogen (N) assimilation and resource allocation have been studied different environments. However, how dioecious plants affect soil microbial communities natural forests, particularly low precipitation regions, is still poorly known. In this study, Populus euphratica forests were investigated three arid regions. We hypothesized that males females impose sex-specific impacts on physiochemical traits of soil, N-cycling processes. discovered only little sex effect most traits, bacterial fungal top (0–20 cm) the forests. was greater deep soil. Compared with fungi, structure composition affected more rhizosphere bulk Sex indirectly processes through a negative impact water content. Expressions AOA, AOB, nifH, nirS nirK significantly sex, forest site their interactions. Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria Firmicutes soils P. showed significant effects ammoxidation, N fixation, denitrification protease activities when compared to females. The results suggest sexual differences shaping affecting becomes drier. Thus, causes intense uptake use efficiency. Our study highlights importance specific

[Sexual differences in climatic response of dioecious Populus davidiana tree].
The tree-ring width series and standardized chronologies of Populus davidiana trees in broad-leaved and Korean pine forest in Changbai Mountains were developed separately for male and female trees. Their differential radial growth and their relationship with climatic conditions were analyzed to reveal the effect of gender on radial growth and their climatic responses. It was found that there wa...

Forest management often results in changes in soil microbial communities. To understand how forest management can change microbial communities, we studied soil microbial abundance and community structure in a natural Chamaecyparis (NCP) forest, a disturbed Chamaecyparis (DCP) forest, a secondary (regenerated) Chamaecyparis (SCP) forest and a secondary (reforested) Cryptomeria (SCD) forest. We a...
متن کاملDistinct patterns of natural selection in Na+/H+ antiporter genes in Populus euphratica and Populus pruinosa
Salt tolerance genes constitute an important class of loci in plant genomes. Little is known about the extent to which natural selection in saline environments has acted upon these loci, and what types of nucleotide diversity such selection has given rise to. Here, we surveyed genetic diversity in three types of Na+/H+ antiporter gene (SOS, NhaD, and NHX, belonging to the cation/proton antiport...
متن کاملThe microbial nitrogen cycle
Nitrogen (N) is an essential element in biological systems and one that often limits production in both aquatic and terrestrial systems. Due to its requirement in biological macromolecules, its acquisition and cycling have the potential to structure microbial communities, as well as to control productivity on the ecosystem scale. In addition, its versatile redox chemistry is the basis of comple...
